  5. Brief description:  Allows you to use shortcuts for frequently used texts         
  6. ------------------  (phrases, e-mail addresses, C++ constructions, file paths,
  7.                     form templates, etc.).

  13. Perfect Keyboard allows you to define shortcuts that, once typed, are
  14. expanded to longer text (or to sequence of keystrokes).  You can use two 
  15. types of shortcut -- text shortcut and key shortcut.  
  16. 1)  Text shortcut:  when text shortcut is typed, it is expanded to another 
  17.     (much longer) text or several keystrokes.  For example, we have shortcut 
  18.     "th" associated with text "Thank you for your prompt answer".  When you 
  19.     type (in any Windows program) "th" and press space bar, the text th is 
  20.     deleted and text "Thank you for your prompt answer". is put instead.  
  21. 2)  Key shortcut:  Key shortcut works the same way as the text shortcut does, 
  22.     but it is a combination of keys like Ctrl+Shift+n or Alt+Ctrl+t, etc.  For 
  23.     example, we have shortcut Alt+Ctrl+t associated with text "Thank you for 
  24.     your prompt answer".  When you press Alt+Ctrl+t key combination (in any 
  25.     Windows program) the text "Thank you for your prompt answer". is put.

  27. There are some tips how can be the Perfect Keyboard used:

  29. 1) Mostly used phrases:  Why to type the same phrases again and again.  
  30.    Create a library of mostly used phrases and use it in any wordprocessor or 
  31.    text editor you want.

  33. 2) Mostly used file paths: You can predefine shortcuts for your mostly used file 
  34.    paths (documents, projects, source files, etc.).  These shortcuts you can use, 
  35.    for example, in Open or Save as dialogues to switch to desired directory or in 
  36.    other (file management) programs to change directory quickly.

  38. 3) Windows shortcuts:  You can replace Windows keyboard shortcuts (like 
  39.    "Ctrl+Alt+n" for Notepad program- not very intuitive) to shortcuts that are 
  40.    remembered much easier (for example "np" for Notepad program).  You can type 
  41.    the shortcut in any program, even in the programs that have no keyboard input 
  42.    (empty desktop, MS Paint, etc.) and the shortcut is performed.

  44. 4) Forms templates:  If you often fill some forms you can define templates that 
  45.    will fill some default entries (date, time, phrases, etc.) to particular fields 
  46.    of the form.

  48. 5) Programmers can define shortcuts for often used programming constructions.  Such 
  49.    shortcuts save time and also unify your source code.

  51. 6) Mostly used e-mail addresses:  You can create a list of your mostly used e-mail  
  52.    addresses.  Once defined e-mail addresses can be used not only in your e-mail 
  53.    client(s) when sending mail but also in any other kind of correspondence you type 
  54.    an e-mail address.

  62. Installation:

  64. To install the Perfect Keyboard to your system run SETUPPK.EXE 
  65. program.

  67. Upgrade:
  68. --------
  69. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Perfect Keyboard
  70. install new files to the directory your installation of
  71. Perfect Keyboard currently resides.  Do not forget to backup
  72. all old files in the directory before you install new
  73. version (for a case you would like to go back to old version
  74. or installation fails).
